Vases and Versatility - How to Make Paper Flower Vase Arrangement
When it comes to gifting flowers to loved ones, people often give bouquets since they’re easy to hold onto and they are arranged in a presentable manner. But when placing them in as a decoration, the bouquet has to be unwrapped to be able to be placed on a vase, where it could ruin the original arrangement.Â
Flower Vase Arrangements, however, are already placed in a vase and laid out delightfully, where it will be ready to be used as a decoration. What’s even more exciting is that you can use a vase of any shape, size and even design for your flowers! Not only is it good for fresh flowers, but it is also a good way to even decorate your own paper flower bouquets on a vase!
Unlike a flower bouquet, vase arrangements are more versatile and require the entire space of the vase to be decorated. This makes for an adjustable and more creative way of arranging the flowers. You also have to consider the kind of vase you will use for your flowers to complete the entire display. Today, I will be showing you how to arrange such flowers in a small, self-made jar shaped vase.
First, gather your vase and all of your flowers and arrange them all in their respective groups. For this arrangement in particular, you have the Focal Flowers (Peonies), the Secondary Flowers (Carnations), the Fillers (Baby’s Breath) and the Foliage (Peony leaves).
Grab your focal flowers, in this case the pink peonies, and put them all in the vase, making sure to arrange them in to provide extra space for the rest of the flowers.
Then, insert your secondary flowers in between the peonies. We are using different colors of carnations for this arrangement. Make sure that the secondary flowers complement the colors of the main flowers and ensure that it doesn’t take too much attention away from the focal flowers.
Next, block out the remaining space with fillers to give off the sense of “fullness” in the arrangement. The addition of bunches of Baby’s Breath increases the number of flowers in the bouquet, making it feel more plentiful.
Afterwards, you add the foliage. Flowers aren’t complete without their leaves, after all! Because our focal flowers are peonies, the leaves used here will be peony leaves. Insert them in areas close by the peony flowers, and in bald spots left by the Baby’s Breath to complete a dome-like look.
Lastly, make sure to straighten up your arrangement to make sure no flowers stick out too much, and that they are in a properly neat position. Ensure that they are secured well into the vase, so that it doesn’t fall off.
Vase arrangements can be just as enjoyable as making bouquet arrangements. Both has its pros and cons, but the decision will depend on you. Either way, there are no wrong or right decisions, and you are free to decorate it as you wish so long as you keep the fundamentals of flower arrangements in mind, and you continue to follow these simple steps! ^^
